Maths is Fun; How to Learn Simple Multiplication for Kids (Times Tables) Part 2/3

Assalamu’alaikum wr wb,

This is Part 2/3 of Maths is Fun, How to Learn Simple Multiplication. If you haven’t read Part 1, please click here.

PART 2.

Please memorize these multiplications.

Do you, remember this picture?

We will use it again!

In Part 1, I promised to show you how to multiply 7×6 with this method?

How many jumps do you need to go from 7 to 10?

Yes, of course 3!

How many jumps do you need to go from 6 to 10?

Yes, of course 4!

Now, write 3 next to 7 and 4 next to 6. Like this;

Now, Let’s multiply 3 by 4 (3×4=12), write 2 only and save 1 for the next stage;

Now, Let’s subtract (diagonally) 7 take away 4 (7-4) or 6 takeaway 3 (6-3), don’t forget to add the number that we saved earlier which is 1, (7-4+1=4) or (6-3+1=4)and write the result like this;

Yes, the answer is 42.

Now, it is your turn to do my challenge!

5×7 = ? 5×8 = ? 5×9 = ?

6×5 = ? 6×6 = ? 6×7 = ? 6×8 = ? 6×9 = ?

7×5 = ? 7×6 = ? 7×7 = ? 7×8 = ? 7×9 = ?

8×5 = ? 8×6 = ? 8×7 = ? 8×8 = ? 8×9 = ?

9×5 = ? 9×6 = ? 9×7 = ? 9×8 = ? 9×9 = ?

Insha Allah, in my next post I will explain to you (Part 3).

Wassalamu’alaikum wr wb.
