We have a skeleton on the inside of your body. Without the skeleton our body would be as floppy as jelly. There are over 200 bones in our body, bones are very tough and light. They are made from calcium and collagen.

The skeleton does three jobs:

1. To protect our body for example skull protects our brain, ribs protects our organs such as hearts and lungs, backbones protects our spinal nerves.
2. To support our body, it lets us stand upright.
3. To help us move, muscles are joined to the bones it controls the way the bones move.

There are 8 planets in the Solar system, they are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Below are the facts about the 8 planets that you need to know.


1. Mercury facts

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. It doesn’t have any moons and rings. Because of the distant to the sun a year on mercury it’s just 88 days long. The diameter is 4879 km that makes it the smallest planet in the solar system. Mercury has a molten core.

2. Venus facts

Venus is the second planet from the sun. It doesn’t have any moons or rings. A year on Venus takes 225 earth days. A day on Venus lasts longer than a year. It spins the other the opposite way to the other planets. Venus is 12,104km in the diameter. Continue reading →

An insect is a small animal that has a hard outer skeleton covering its body called exoskeleton. It has six joined legs and three body parts. Most insects have one or two pairs of wings. There are many types of insects, with different shapes, sizes and colours, which are divided into groups such as beetles, butterflies and moths, bees, wasps, flies and bugs. Sometimes they are also called bugs and creepy crawlies.

Kangaroos are unique animals because of the pouch on their tummy. This means the mother kangaroo can carry her baby in a pouch on her tummy.

Kangaroos have huge back legs and big feet. They move by hopping around on their strong back legs. They have a long thick tail to help them balance when they hop and to support them when they sit or walk.

Kangaroos live in the wild only in Australia, New guinea and nearby island. In Australia the word kangaroo is often shortened to just roo.

Male kangaroos are called bucks, boomers, jacks, or old men.
The females are called does, flyers, or jills.
A baby kangaroo is called a joey.
Kangaroos live together in groups called mobs.
There can be up to 100 kangaroos in a mob.

Rainbows

I really like rainbows, because of the pretty colours. There are seven colours in a rainbow, they are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

Do you know how a rainbow is formed?

When it rains and it’s sunny at the same time you will see a rainbow form. It happens because the beams of the sunlight separate into colours when it enters the water from the rain. Sunlight is actually made from different colours but we can’t see them as they appear to be white when it reaches the earth. • Astaghfirullah (I ask Allah for forgiveness) three times.

• Allahumma anta al-salām wa minka al-salām tabarakta ya dhal-jalali wa’l-ikrām

Translation: O Allāh, You are the One Who is free from all defects and deficiencies and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour.

• La ilaha ill-Allāh wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer. La hawla wa la quwwata illa Billah wa la na’budu illa iyyah. Lahu’l-ni’mah wa lahu’l-fadl wa lahu’l-thana al-hasan. La ilaha ill-Allah mukhliseena lahu’l-deena wa law kariha’l-kafiroon. Allahumma la mani’a lima a’tayta wa la mu’tiya lima mana’ta wa la yanfa’u dha’l-jaddi minka al-jadd.

Translation: “There is no god but Allah Alone, with no partner or associate His is the sovereignty and to Him be praise, and He is Able to do all things. There is no power and no strength except with Allah, and we worship none but Him. From Him (alone) come all blessings and favours, and all good praise is due to Him. There is no god but Allah and we make our worship purely for Him (alone) however much the disbelievers may hate that.
